BIRD BOX
During the first lockdown at home in April we created some pallet bird boxes, and each member of the family painted a roof a different colour. My youngest daughter added zebra stripes to hers too, which turned out pretty good actually.
To our surprise, within 3 days of setting them up, we had a pair of Blue Tits move in, and a month later the chirping of chicks. We spent the next few weeks watching the busy parents fly in and out feeding their chicks before 21 days later the chicks decided they were ready to leave.
Over the course of 5 hours, we saw 5 chicks leave the nest, the final one stopping on top of the rabbit hutch before heading up into the safety of the trees. So proof that these little boxes do actually work!
